Wishing Well

2019

Participants are conjoined in a hinged wooden sculpture through which they enter a virtual world where two hands try to touch one another from opposite sides of glass. The work explores emergent behaviors and embodied knowledge that responds to haptic feedback of connected people. The seemingly intimate experience is then confronted with the impenetrability of the subjective experience, the two users in fact can never touch from either side of their virtual point of view.
