SOLO

SOLO is a performance that deconstructs the rhetoric of hype and competitive narrative. The mechanisms of sports narrative and competitive spirit are manipulated through a multi-media performance that questions the gendered roles and implied sexuality embedded within the game of beer pong. The performance questions the role of the spectator and fan culture as she fuses dance, athleticism, and sacrifice within the mechanics of spectacle. This movement practice investigates the female body in relation to drinking culture, sports hype, and competitive play.
